History of the Centre

The community centre was built in 2001 and is owned by Huntstown Community Centre CLG on behalf of the local community. Our staff manage the centre day to day with the support and partnership of the Board of Directors ad state agencies. We reinvest any profit made to upgrade and maintain the centre and develop programs to meet the ever changing needs of the community

Background

Huntstown Community Centre opened its doors on the 24th of October 2001 it is a purpose built, multifunctional community centre. There is a coffee shop in the building and it also has an all weather sports pitch adjacent to it. The main users of the centre are youth and voluntary groups such as the Beavers, Cubs Scouts and Ventures, We also have a high community group usage such as Irish dancing, Ladies and Youth Clubs, Vincent de Paul and Support Groups, . We also run many DDETB programmes, Childcare courses and many morning and evening classes.

Our mission is to promote, enable and facilitate inclusive activities which embrace and address the educational, social, cultural and
recreational needs of the local community in a safe, warm, welcoming and friendly environment.

What you can find in our Centre

Medium sized sports hall Sports hall available for sports such as indoor soccer, basketball and others. Suitable for large gatherings.
Meeting rooms Rooms are suitable for a wide range of activities such as meetings for resident associations, sporting clubs, arts and crafts, training and a variety of youth activities.
Community coffee shop Open from 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday and provides a place for people to drop in and enjoy a cup of tea/coffee.
Youth room Here we have special services for youth such as the Huntstown Community Youth Project and Garda Youth Diverson Porject run by Foroige.
Artificial sports pitch Available for a wide range of sporting and recreational outdoor activities.
Community childcare project We have a community child care pre-school service.
